About O-STATE Stories
O-STATE Stories: An Oral History Project of the OSU Library was launched in 2006 as a means of preserving memories from alumni, administrators, faculty, staff and supporters connected to Oklahoma A&M College and Oklahoma State University. Modeled after the StoryCorps program featured on National Public Radio, O-STATE Stories has currently interviewed over 30 former students representing various disciplines.
How it Works
The OSU Library provides the equipment and technical support for two friends or family members to
interview each other about their time at OSU. In addition, the Library can provide an interviewer for
individuals who would like to take part in the project. The Library will ask you to fill out an interviewee
questionnaire and will also provide you with example interview topics / questions to get you started.
Interviews will be audio and / or video-recorded, transcribed, and preserved. At the time of the interview, a still photograph will also be taken. Interviews usually last from 1-2 hours. Participants will be asked to sign a release allowing the Library to use recordings of their interview for O-STATE Stories and other University projects.
