Harold Field was born in North Carolina and lived in several states growing up including Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
A veteran of World War II, Field worked as a radar technician in the Navy. After returning home from the war, Field enrolled in Oklahoma A&M College (OAMC) in 1946. He graduated in 1950 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1952.
Field is married to wife June, and has five children.
