Dr. Lawrence Erwin, a native of Tulsa, attended Oklahoma A&M College in 1953 and received degrees from both OAMC and Oklahoma State University after transferring from the University of Tulsa. Erwin earned his DVM, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, in 1958.
While a student in Stillwater, Erwin worked several odd jobs before becoming a taxi driver for Safeway Cab. In this position, he met many interesting people around town and also had fares that included actor Henry Fonda who was in town for the play, Caine Mutiny Court Martial that was showing at Gallagher Hall.
Lawrence opened a veterinary practice in Stillwater in 1963 after working in Cherokee, OK upon graduation. He currently resides in Tulsa and is employed as a relief veterinarian at Marina Animal Clinic.
